Gelli Print, Self Portrait Zaptabby is a visual artist who offers an exclusive collection of original artwork and t-shirt silkscreen designs. Further specialist areas include graphic design for print, photography and website design.

Art education is also very important. Zaptabby believes the creative arts are overlooked and should have more focus than the core subjects. The creative arts fuel innovation and imagination, developing lifelong skills that help enable a student’s perception, understanding, productivity and wellbeing.

Why Zaptabby?

Since leaving Bradford College Zaptabby took the bold move to become a freelance designer. The initial name was called 'Creative Developments' but this was too long a name and sounded old fashioned. Zaptabby wanted the name to be more modern, dynamic and short. After a long process of mixing up words associated with 'dynamism' and 'design' Zaptabby decided with, Zapstudio.

However, the initial website content was a mixture of personal and business content, with art, photography and design. Zaptabby decided this had no focus and decided to separate the art from Zapstudio and create a new personal website called, Zaptabby. 'Zap' is the umbrella name and 'tabby' was chosen because one day a cat in the garden was attacking a family of crows. Ironically, Zaptabby prefer cats than dogs! So, why not state the real 'identity' behind Zaptabby? Well, we live in a paranoiac, mixed up crazy world and Zaptabby wants to be 'safe', 'independent', not follow fashion, just like a cat, meow!

Education

In 1996 Zaptabby graduated with a BA Hons in Art and Design and in 1998 passed an MA in Printmaking with distinction. From 1998 to 2000 Zaptabby was a lecturer at Bradford College, teaching Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office to 16-year old art students and adults.

Creative Software

In 1996 Zaptabby started with Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 and did numerous upgrades to the very last Adobe Creative Suite 6.0 on disc. After Adobe’s awful switch to subscription based buying, Zaptabby has now transferred to Affinity Designer, Photo and Publisher. Throughout many years Zaptabby has also gained knowledge and techniques with Davinci Resolve.
